Hello and thank you so much for visiting our blog! My name is Vanessa Figueroa and I am married to my amazing, tall and handsome husband, Kenneth Figueroa for 5 years now (we dated for 5 so we’ve been together 10 years total, I have to always throw that in there). We are transplants to cold Chicago from warm Florida, crazy right? Everyone always tells us we went the wrong way! With God, the wrong way always ends up being the right way and you’ll get to see that about our journey through this blog. I have a 13 year old daughter from a previous marriage who is the, hmm… how should I put it nicely? Thermometer of our house these days (if you have teens you know full well what I’m talking about). We are honored and privileged to serve the Lord Jesus Christ with the gifts and talents He has given each one of us. My husband is an assistant Pastor at our amazing, Spirit filled church New Life Covenant Church. I love to worship through music and prayer. And our little one loves to worship through dance and help out in our media department. When we’re not working at our business or doing ministry life, we love to vacation and create memories together. We have a couple of exciting trips around the corner – one to Costa Rica and one to Europe in the summer. We are so excited for the doors God continues to open for us as a family to share His love and spread the message of His grace and mercy. I started this blog because in my spirit, I kept hearing “not enough people know” and I started brainstorming on ways to get our story out there. What better way than the power of the world wide web? Thank you Lord for technology. (I will beg you in advance to forgive me for this blog not being “pretty”, I am not the most tech savvy but I am learning and asking God for wisdom as I navigate uncharted waters.) We believe in sharing our faith journey, we are letting ourselves be exposed but used mightily for His glory. My prayer is that through our story and this blog, you will be encouraged to persevere and believe God for the impossible in your unique situation. Happy reading!
